Stay strong! Jesus has made a way for you. Keep going... there is a clearing ahead -- He promised you! And He has already forgiven you. Also, one thing that has helped me is to remember the verse that says that Jesus was tempted in every way as we are. You are not alone. He understands. Hopefully your wife will somehow be able to understand this also. Certainly she hasn't lived a sinless life herself, has she? Divorce is a very ugly thing. My parents are divorced, and I stood by as a couple of my closest friends got divorced -- it messed up the kids so bad, and no one in the family has recovered yet. It's just not worth it. I wonder what your wife thinks she would be accomplishing for herself if she decided to divorce you? You already said vengeance... but that is selfish on her part. Divorce does so much damage to the family -- I just don't see how it would be justified in your case. My prayers are with you. There's been a couple times in my life that I thought about giving up since I didn't see how it would be possible that I could ever get through life past that point, but I just kept taking every day a day at a time, sometimes an hour or even a minute at a time, and I got past that point, and now I'm doing rather well -- on my way back up! I'm going to college again, getting my bills paid, buying land, planning on building my own house, putting more effort into my hobbies, and setting higher goals for myself. I'm actually happier now than I was then, and am very thankful for the lessons I've learned. I do have many regrets, but because of those things, I have learned a lot and now know how to make better choices. I just don't think God puts us through these things for no reason, and He certainly doesn't make us go through these things so that we give up or fall down, never to get back up again. GOOD will come out of this. God has promised us a hope and a future. If you are able to have any peace at all, please know that you can rest in the promises of God. ~Splash* |
