It takes time

It takes time, but eventually you will need to come to terms with the fact that this is who you are, and it isnt going to magically change. You will need to adjust your life around it, and make goals that are realistic and that take who you are into account. You are going to have to be there for your 11 year old friend, even if it brings you pain because his well being should come before your own, and at this point it is harmful to him for you to abandon him like that. The only reason I would suggest you stay away from him is if you feel you are in danger of doing something that may hurt him in the future, but from what you have said, I dont think that is the case. However, ultimately you need to find what makes you happy. For me, being around boys makes me happy. But for you, that doesnt seem to be the case. If boys bring you sadness, then avoid boys. It may be that it brings you sadness now because you havent come to terms with your feelings, if so then there is nothing wrong with staying away from boys for now, and getting involved with them once again after you have come to terms with yourself (with the exception of the aforementioned 11 year old whom you should not abandon). I definitely recommend attending church and establishing a personal relationship with God, he is the only person who can be with you every step of the way. God has a plan for you, and he is the only one who can reveal it and who can bring meaning to your life. Therefore I urge you to pray daily, find a church you are comfortable in, and dust off your bible and begin studying the word. I recommend beginning with one of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John) because that is where you will learn about the life and teachings of Jesus when he lived among men. best of wishes on your quest, Drifter |
