I agree with John 3:16, however it is only one verse and there are other verses that mention other requirements. Here are a few along with some notes about why I believe they point to other requirements for christians:

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

(This tells me that baptism is an important part of being a christian)

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

(This tells me that christians are required to remain pure)

1 Corinthians 6:16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."

(This one also shows the requirement for christians to remain pure)

Revelation 3:3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

(This points to the fact that we need to remain on guard, and continue obeying those words we have recieved and heard, and repenting when we fail, in order that when Jesus returns, he wont catch us by surprize unprepared).

There are a multitude of verses explaining what it takes to be a christian, and actually..nearly the entire bible is a guide on how to live a christian life. That is why I believe there is more to it than John 3:16 (there is also the rest of the bible appart from that one verse).
