Dear Pat, I'm glad to hear from you. My lover of 8 years passed away almost a year ago. I am a boylover and he was not. He knew, though, and was very supportive. When I first found the Internet I was quite interested in collecting pictures and Lenny was worried. He was afraid something might happen to me. But, like your Pat, I eventually deleted them and moved on. It was nice to have Lenny's support. He'd do little things like point out a cute boy on TV or on the street. He'd tell me how he thought age of consent laws were ridiculous. And he'd talk to me about how many gay friends of his over the years must really have been boylovers even if they didn't want to admit it. Coming to accept myself was a long, gradual process. Lenny didn't do it for me - I had to fight the fight for myself. Having his non-judgemental support, however, made things far easier and probably speeded up the process. I think Pat is lucky to have you around. He has a lot of issues to deal with and perhaps with your support he'll be able to work on them more quickly. Love, Jim |
