They cancelled Pete and Pete? The animals! :) I see where you're coming from but, like Allen, everyone has the ability to "walk away" when they don't like what I'm saying. In fact, I can think of a few people here who would probably agree with me. Christianity isn't what it was intended to be. Do I cause people pain by what I'm saying? I don't know...but, if they are so easily pained, then they shouldn't be here anyway. The internet is a medium to express thoughts and ideas, not a place to be silent. I'm not saying that God doesn't exist (that's another argument). I'm not saying that the Christian religion is not worth believing in (its core beliefs are). What I am saying is that it is not the religion that Christ intended. The basic tenets of Christ's beliefs are still sound, but the way man has perverted those beliefs is not what (in my opinion) was intended. And, yes, the beliefs that "feel" right to me are the beliefs I use. Doesn't everyone? That's part of the argument. I follow the core beliefs. Others take those same beliefs and twist them until they bear little resemblance to the original beliefs...and live their lives by them, while still calling themselves Christians. It's not right to pervert beliefs and use them to their benefit then take the name (and name only) of the originator of the beliefs. But that's my opinion. I'm sure others here would disagree. |
