Some interesting points F.O.D. I don't consider myself a theologian, but I will have a go at making some points. Firstly, I could never accept the word for word literal interpretation of the bible. I think we need to look at it as being written by people who were influenced by their times. Homosexuality was viewed as an act of the devil, not something, which is an innate part of one's personality. Regarding the New Testament, Jesus to me always seems to make reference to obeying the law. Since most of societies laws are there to protect the rights and safety of the individual this does make sense that he should stress this. Can we therefore assume that in a society where gay relationships are legal, that those involved in such relationships have God's blessing? Danny |
