Because You Came
Because you came the sun is shining brighter; Or is it just the memory of your smile That makes the care of every day seem lighter, Because I shared your joy a little while?
Your gaiety of speech, your effervescence, Combine with deeper thoughts that are sublime; The inspiration of your happy presence Is filling every hour of the time.
Your buoyancy of spirit is alluring; There's music in the laughter of your voice. You have a kind of charm that is enduring, The qualities that make the heart rejoice.
You're loyal to your friends and to your honor; You're infinitely kind, and so I pray God love you, friend of mine, and keep you happy Until the closing hour of life's sweet day.
Beyond
After the storm comes the sunlight, And beyond every hour of despair There is courage and hope awaiting To banish sorrow and care.
Beyond the pain there is gladness, And joy shall drive away tears; There is friendship and understanding After the weary years.
There is confidence after your doubting. After the false comes the true; Beyond the night there is morning, When the world shall be made new.
Hearts crushed with sorrow, remember That springtime gives life to the sod; After the day comes the sunset… And beyond the sunset… is God.
