The whole concept of Statutory Rape is founded on the idea of non-consensual sex, because minors are deemed not to be able to give informed consent to something so serious, (and even not to fully know what they are asking for even if they ask for it). "Teenagers, at least, are capable of giving consent... " It depends on how seriously you take sexual activity, how weighty or grave the matter is. Can we take it that you will also argue for a reduction in the legal penalties for sexual assault and rape, then, to something more in line with the legal penalties for throwing Custard-Pies at people, given that you consider? "The idea that if a 16yo girl consents to sex with an 18yo boy, the state can prosecute the boy..." As Triple Q points out in a slightly different way below, this is not what's at issue here at all.
