Everything I believe is founded on logic. However, logically speaking, I cannot pretend to understand all the mysteries of God. God is a being whose intelligence far outweighs mine. His intellect is vast. His knowledge beyond the scope of our feeble minds. He created the universe, the laws of physics, atoms, molecules, the elements, plants, animals, the ocean... He gave order to something of such great magnitude. How can I pretend to completely understand such a being? To say I understand everything he does and why he does it is simply illogical. Because of the ridiculousness of the idea that I might somehow comprehend the reasons for everything he asks of us...I simply dont bother. If he asks something, then I assume he knows what hes doing much better than I do. So, what I really seek to understand is what it is that God wants, not why. Through study of history and the scriptures, I have logically come to the conclusion that the bible contains God's instructions for humanity. Studying the bible reveals that God intended sex as something reserved for heterosexual marriage (I did not use the word monogamous however, and dont know why you assumed I meant that). Therefore, having come to the conclusion that God is the creator and knows far better than I do about all things, that he gave us a guide to living a Godly life (The Holy Scriptures), and that this guide tells us that sex outside of marriage is wrong... There is no reason to question why its wrong.
