that none of the posters on this board were in any way offended by anything I've posted here this evening... My questions are in the nature of sincere inquiry as to how some of you have arrived at the conclusion that Jesus condemned homosexuality... Quite honestly, I don't get that message from the New Testament at all... It seems to me, rather, to be rooted in Old Testament Hebrew religious laws from Leviticus, many of which are not followed in any way by contemporary Christians... Why the singling out of homosexuality from among the Levitican bans while ignoring the eating of pork, for example, or the traditional Hebrew Sabbat of Friday night-thru-Saturday? (the latter, of course, is assuming you aren't Seventh Day Adventists, who I understand DO celebrate the Sabbat on Saturday...) with sincerest love and hope for understanding John |
