Belief in God and church aside, right and wrong DO exist as do universal ethics that are NOT relative to each one of us. It IS absolutely wrong for one person to act AGAINST another person on the basis of selfish (unloving) motivations (no matter if he/she believes in God or not). I'm not sure where the blame of the church might enter into your illustration except if the church somehow knowingly let these people continue in their vile (totally self-serving and unloving) ways without warning or action, but besides that, we are each responsible for our own salvation. If a man continues to ignore the tugging of the Holy Spirit, it is by his own choice that he is lost. Other Christians are not to blame (as long as they have allowed the Holy Spirit to work through them in their interactions, if any, with this man). I'm not sure if I answered your questions exactly since they seem to be loaded, especially the last two, including your subject "feel free to ignore." Maybe further discussion in this forum will prove fruitful. Peace. Splash |
