what is a christian? (open question to all)

| Ive been having discussions with a good friend of mine about what is required of a christian. It is my beleif that being a christian involves not only loving God in your heart and accepting Jesus into your life but it also involves gathering in his name (attending church), tithing, reading the bible, praying, worshipping him, and working for him (and perhaps other things Ive forgotten to mention). But he seems to be of the point of view that it is only what is in your heart that matters and so it isnt important if you attend church or not or if you dont do these other things. Im wondering what your feelings are on this issue and if you can provide scriptures which may prove your position. If you dont feel like providing scriptures please feel free to post your point of view anyway, but if you have scriptures you can provide, that would be even better. |
