...his sentence is utterly barbaric. 14 years in prison??? No parole??? Sheesh! Yes, I'll be praying for him. All I can say is thank God I'm not an American... Obviously you and I are on different sides of the theological coin when it comes to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. While the Holy Spirit is certainly grieved when a believer indulges in sin, He is still there in order to convict the believer of sin. He doesn't come and go based on how closely we are walking with God in our daily life. While not necessarily equated with, it certainly comes across to me as part of a works based salvation, which I reject as unscriptural. Not really interested in debating the issue (people have been doing that for hundreds of years), just throwing out my ten cents on the issue.
