Christian BoyLove Forum #60189
I'm hopeless at bible references but I couldnt see what you might hate in Matthew chapter 13: although I know the parables are no less demanding for being too familiar to us. They put Matthew first because that was the first one written I think and I like Matthew best because this is Jesus at his most human and his most Jewish. It's also the one where the disciples really haven't begun to understand what Jesus is really about: in chapter 13 the disciples don't seem to understand much more than the rest of the crowd . . . [By John, though, written some decades later, Jesus has become rather more God than man and maybe that's because, by then, the Christian church had begun to understand Jesus' real place in the scheme of things. . . .]
and yes I see what you mean by the Golden Rule and, yes, that is the pretty much the whole story but you won't need to spend much time on the gay scene to see that the Golden Rule doesnt get much of a look-in there . .There is a strange paradox about the search for love: the more we seek love (especially through one-night stands or casual relationships) the less we find it (I spent about four years on the gay scene btw). I believe that this is because human beings are, more than anything else, seeking and needing a relationship with God [even if they have no idea about that] To the non-Christian that seems quite absurd but I am guessing you have an inkling about that already otherwise why else would you visiting this forum? There are very blest people who are able to find real love with a partner and certainly God is very present in those relationships but lots of people get hurt very badly in the search for love and its the hurt that changes us: it makes us lose our way. Would I be right in guessing that you have a good family? I hope that you have found someone who you can talk to about being gay and maybe 'coming out' (you might still be too young: I can't tell from your posts.) Best wishes ng |
