No, it does get drowned out, when you surround yourself with live friends. Well, maybe "drowned" out is the wrong word, but the point is that having friends to be with and to love keeps the sexual yearning from devouring you. Which is not ignoring or repressing the desire, but, rather, keeping it from destroying you.
