Theo,

Welcome to the board! :) I know that I’m not one who should be greeting people to this board, since I am new here myself, but I will anyway. I believe that everyone should have a warm welcome to this site, such as I was given. Your post had me searching for a main point, when I thought I had found it I lost it again. I believe that it was to state your readiness to help us out with advice and a loving Christian perspective. But one of your points/statements I just didn’t understand.

• “The church can rationalize anything that is a common enough practice, to alleviate anxiety, or a consciousness of guilt, for its members.”
-No Christian church should ever rationalize anything. A couple of churches around my city have tried to candy coat homosexuality, overlook it and yes rationalize it; but that is wrong.

Please don’t give those who are on this board a misconception of what a Godly church is. The generalization of the word “The Church” is a heavy thing. Adding the word SOME would better describe your point. I believe that some Churches can be as you described. I still don’t understand it, and would like to know what it meant.

• “…scriptures applied equally to everyone.them, they turned on me, and would have burned me at the stake for suggesting liars in the church will burn for their lies, thieves will burn for their thefts, etc.,”

I agree with you, scriptures apply equally to everyone. We all sin, and all sins are equal in the eyes of God. Stealing, lying, committing sexual immoral acts and even killing; and we will all have to account for our sins. But Jesus died for all of us… the pedophiles, murderers, thieves, liars etc.

I just want to say, that homosexuality is wrong, no matter what age group. The way society has made it somewhat acceptable, is what keeps people from realizing that they need help. We are just like alcoholics and compulsive gamblers. It’s a sinful lifestyle that we need to turn around. I believe that God gave everyone of us a certain gift, a love for children. We need to turn that love into something God can use.

“Leviticus18 verse 22: 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. ' ”

There’s probably a whole lot more scriptures where God states that it is wrong. If you keep denying it to yourself, you will never find forgivenss. With each-others help we can overcome this obstacle.
