Christian Homosexuality

In all of my time online, Ive met a handful of people who could relate with my spiritual struggles because they dealt with the same issues living as christians with homosexual attractions. Sadly, all but one of those persons gave up and accepted the philosophy that its ok to be actively gay and still be a christian. They each rationalized it with different points of view about the key verses (or by simply viewing the bible as an imperfect guide, not the word of God). Ive looked through gay christian web sites and they basically break down into two camps. One camp believes that it is ok to live a gay lifestyle and still be a christian. The other camp deceive themselves into believing they are no longer gay (and some believe they never were but that satan had been decieving them into believing they were) even though they continue to face the same struggles and they do not feel attracted to members of the opposite sex. I have been unable to find a third camp, and I wonder if one exists. A camp like ours, one that does not lie to its members, does not try to convince them that they are no longer gay when in fact they still are, and does not accept the lie that its ok to live a gay and a christian lifestyle simultaneously. We (most of us) have found the truth, we have found the way to live a christian lifestyle while taking into account our feelings, and I find it hard to believe that no one in the gay community has done the same. Basically, Im asking everyone here if you have ever heard of a gay christian message board like ours. Id like to have a place that I could reffer my gay christian friends to, some place that offers them hope based on the truth and not on lies. Does anyone know of such a place? Also, in the absense of finding such a perfect place, how do you all feel about having gays who are not boylovers in here sharing with us? I personally do not have a problem with it, but I worry that the focus of the board may be lost and we could end up turning into a general christian board with gays, straights, bls, gls, etc. I dont think any of us want this board to lose its focus either, so I wonder how you all feel about that. love in Christ, Drifter PS. Zip and Forgiven, as moderators I think your opinion is very important on this issue since it is something that could in the long run affect the atmosphere of this board. Please feel free to respond as you see appropriate. PPS. In the future I am considering posting a little bit more about the similarities and differences that I have encountered when dealing with homosexuals who are not attracted to minors and are christians (as you may be aware of, their struggles are similar to ours but different in several key areas). |
