You ever go to a public school? Ever watch a bully? Why is it they pick on the weaker kids, the ones that won't stand up for themselves? When I say that peace is achieved through might, I mean that there must be an established threat to deter violence. Reagan achieved PEACE with Russia through might. We achieved peace with Nazi Germany through might, same with Japan. Someone would have to be absent of any logical thought to believe that someone the likes of Saddam would simply go away if everyone ignored him. On top of Saddam we have the threat of North Korea, and possibly China (with Taiwan). Tell me, how we can expect those countries to respect what we say when we don't even show the determination to follow through with the threat we made to Saddam? Had Bush not gone to war with Iraq, we would be in far graver danger. |
