Hi Mark - Thanks for the group welcome. It is encouraging for me to see that BLs have found the church to be an avenue to reach out to boys in need. I guess I sensed that that must be the case. Interestingly, the synagogue (where Jews pray) is NOT at all useful for that. Most Jews who are not wealthy, two parent families, don't seem to end up at synagogue at all :( Not that there aren't boys from other families who also need the help, but their needs are more elusive. Anyway, I was curious about what you know the church's views on homosexuality. I am not gay, as it turns out, but I have to assume that the conclusions about homosexuality would also apply to pedophilia as well (if not to a greater degree). During one of my bible studies recently, my teacher (or guide) talked about the fact that the bible is CLEAR that homosexuality is wrong. I didn't want to get into a debate with him because I didn't really want him to think that it was an issue for me. Where is this stated in the bible, how open to interpretation is it and, most importantly, is the problem (according to the bible) homosexuality or homosexual lifestyles? You are not alone. Ben |
