This is true too ... but as Christians it is our responsibility to "practice" the art of "loving others in Christian love". If that makes sense. And hmm... don't know really what you mean about the "complaining on and on about sins", maybe you could elaborate on that. and I don't think that earning love has anything to do w/destroying cities,drowning people. however Christian love has alot to do w/be able to love your enemy. I feel (personally) that if I hated my enemies that I would be more susceptible to violence towards my enemies, and by no means does this suggest that I don't think my enemies should not be punished for a crime they've commited or what have you. But... while I'm here on earth... where will that hatred get me?? nowhere. Jesus sat an example for us... an example of perfect love. None of us are capable of doing the same. Yes God sacrificed His own Son( I think this is who your referring to) in order to spare us. I can't imagine the weight He carried on Him. But I have more peace in me by being able to love my enemies and be humble enough to do that... then to carry around w/me any bad feelings towards that person.. to me it feels much better to wish them well and peace. |
