Hey Jim, Nice to see you around here. Don't worry, I'm not insulted nor am I surprised to hear your response (after all I've heard it from my family and my friends, why not from other BLs :-) I know that you've known me for a while and so all of this doesn't seem to fit in which who you know me to be. Yeah, I've changed my views quite a bit, but I think that you've got to realize that ALOT has happened in my life in the past few months. My life is WAY better than it was before, Jim, and for the first time in my life I'm not running from one sexual filler to the next, constantly having to fill a sinking ship. For the first time in my life, I'm undoing so much of the pain that lies behind the BL, and have HOPE in my life. You don't have to agree with what brought me there, but why does the fact that I see value to living MY life by the bible bring you to say things like these?: OK, who's first to go out and burn a witch? How about stoning some disrespectful childen? What about locking up men who have sex with menstruating women? Where is the connection? Jesus wasn't out stoning anyone or burning them. Quite the contrary he spent his time with the sick, with theives and prostitutes, always giving, always loving and always sharing. Living by the bible is about turning ones own life to God, about changing and giving thankfulness to God for Jesus, and about sharing one's faith with others. It is the hypocritical bible thumpers who are the problem, not people who actually take the time to READ the bible. JudeoChristianity can be barely palatable if people are willing to put aside the tremendous amount of hate and evil that exist in the Bible. Show me the messages of hate and evil. But to insist that that shit be taken literally is really quite ludicrous. What is the basis for it being ludicrous? As a Catholic (which I think I remember you saying that you were, but correct me if I'm wrong) you are not permitted to even read the bible yourself. Even if you have read it, the ONLY thing that is potentially ludicrous is the humanistic conclusion that a higher power such as God cannot exist. Yet such faith has existed throughout history, and I think that we CAN agree that the world is just a wee bit bigger than you or I can imagine. I know where you are coming from Jim, cause you KNOW that I was there. I also know that alot of 'so called' Christians have made BL lives miserable. THAT is not a Christian trait, it is a self-righteous one. You are not alone.
