The sad truth

You say that Christianity appeals more to family people and heterosexuals. The truth is that being heterosexual is one of the pre-requisites for being a Christian but it has never been a real determining factor.

Christianity appeals mainly to family people because they need something to believe that everything is going to be alright for themselves (husband and wife) and for the children they have acquired the responsibility for. They are told that, if they pray daily and believe with all their hearts that God will provide and protect, it will be so. Nothing could be further from the truth though.

Christianity also appeals to older people who are on the last legs of their journey and need some sort of afterlife to believe in. It's easy to believe in Christianity since it talks about an afterlife with "streets paved with gold, no pain, no sorrow; only eternal bliss".

And, the truth is, there are probably more gays and bisexuals and boylovers (etc.) among the "heterosexual" Christians than you are giving an accounting of. And any deviation other than normal "heterosexual" behavior is a sin according to the Bible. How does someone who was born and raised in a Christian family tell their parents that they are an "abomination"? They probably don't. They sit upon the pews every day thinking just how hypocritical they are until one day they decide it is no longer worth it. Then they leave the Church, the one thing that has been their life's blood because the Church says that they are abominations and will not to tolerated.

If you are not a heterosexual and believe in Christianity, you only have two choices: Stay and live in a self-imposed hell or leave.

Is it any wonder that the Churches are filled with seemingly "heterosexual" people? If an "abomination" is discovered to be attending the Church, they are either hounded out or "taken under their wing"...loosely translated, they are made to suppress their "evil" thoughts and constantly watched and "guided" until they are no longer a real person. They just become a puppet doing whatever their strings tell them to do.

Despite the fact that Christians tell you that you are "forgiven of your sins", you never are. There is a difference between forgiving a person and accepting that person as a real and very human person; and forgiving a person then telling him that he has to change what he cannot change so that he can believe in something that he has tried all his life to believe in...despite the constant (albeit unintentional) degradations his life has been attended by the very people who are now trying to change him.

No Christian can preach that being gay is a sin unless they have lived that life...and rejected it. Even then, they will still be gay, whether they choose to accept it or not, so they have no right to be so hypocritical as to preach against something that they know they cannot even get rid of.

Of course, that's just my opinion.
