Hi Brother, Well, I guess we have yet another reason why we are brothers, huh? I just about went through the roof when I read what happened to you, Genghis. I just want you to know that my prayers are going out for you on a daily basis, ok? Your roommate is very sadly mistaken in his faith. Anyone who would just about demand that a person try to change in that way is not only asking too much of that person, but is also not giving them the right advise in how to do so. I have been seeing a counselor, a psycologist, who is involved with a group called NARTH. She is introducing me to a way to possably (notice the word "possably") effect a change in orientation. But if it is going to happen, it will involve a lot of work outside of my sexual self. It involves getting rid of anger and resentments of my past (and present). It involves, actually, a lot more than that, but that is where I am with it right now. And the thing is, I am not actually working towards a change in my sexual orientation right now....I am just trying to get rid of all of that kind of garbage in my life. The kind that can weigh you down and cause a lot of problems. It is a long process, but it will be well worth it. Then, if change DOES occur, it will be like an added bonus. That is how I am understanding all of this, anyway. You can't do something as huge as a change in your sexual orrientation just because someone else wants you to. I have learned that the hard way too. Hey, I am so glad your YF's family is so understanding. I think that is wonderful, brother. Noone needs to have this kind of crap happen to them....nor do people ever know just how terrible and destructive it can be in a person's life. I am really glad you came here when it happened. God will help you, brother. I know that as a definate fact! I will be here for you as will many of your fr4iends in here. Hang in there and just let the Lord do His thing.
