Yesterday, I've watched the big TV movie "Noah's Ark". When seeing the end of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the big flood, I was wondering again about some things: If the Lord is "good" and omnipotent, why didn't He: - create something that wouldn't disappoint Him - stick to His commandments (especially about the killing) - didn't create Man in such a way that, though basically equipped with a free will, he isn't capable of doing *evil* but still capable of chosing between "neutral" and good things. This is possible - a trivial example: If a parrot makes love to another parrot, he'll keep hold of the other one with his beak but is *incapable* of a hard bite at that moment. "Insomma": Why not create a Paradise from the very start - without the serpent? If I don't want my kid eating cookies, I simply put the cookies out of reach and that's it. Why not a world with happy beings who worship a God that does only good and prevents evil? Or is He bored at a smooth-running universe? |
