Refining the definition of the board

The 'challenging' material from mvanhouten raises the issue which Heather raises some months ago about the nature of this board and the ambiguity implicit in the phrase:

we seek to deal with our sexuality and society's reaction to it in responsible and healthy ways, to live out our lives with integrity

She pointed out (and it would be helpful if someone could restore her words, rather than stick with my paraphrase) that this phrase could be interpreted by the 'active' boylover to encompass his continuing in his sexual relationship with his YF. As such the ambiguity comes from a long tradition in the liberal churches of not wanting to exclude anyone from the broad tent of Christianity - though of course it still draws some boundaries - the requirement for 'responsibility' and 'integrity'; of course most liberal Christians would draw the line to exclude the active BL to the same extent that those of us of a more conservative disposition would exclude the active homosexual.

Of course the revelation of criminal activity endangers the operation of this board - the legal position of the webmaster in failing to contact the authorities to reveal all they know about the identity of the criminal poster is questionable. But there is still a grey area in discussing the legitimacy of hypothetical adult-child sex - yet it is not so much more of a grey area than the legitimacy of gay sex unless you impose a definition of Christianity that is significantly traditional!!
